Caring for Seton Falls Park’s Forests – Virtual Learning and Sharing Workshop
Join the Natural Areas Conservancy in this interactive session to learn and share priorities to care for Seton Falls Park’s forested natural areas.
During this virtual meeting, NAC will present forest management recommendations for the natural areas of Seton Falls Park. Recommendations are guided by ecological data and current on-the-ground conditions and highlight projects that can be implemented by community members.
We welcome all participants of this meeting to share their own tips, recommendations, and interests for care of natural areas in the park. During the interactive activity, participants will be invited to share feedback, ask questions and make comments. We will work together to identify the forest management priorities that best address the needs of community members and improve the health of natural areas in Seton Falls Park.
This workshop is part of a series of in-person and virtual presentations about forest ecology and forest care in Seton Falls Park taking place through 2023. This community engagement program is designed to support restoration of the park’s forests to ensure a healthy and robust environment for plant life, animals, and the local community in a changing climate. Everyone is invited to get involved and work together with NAC, NYC Parks, Seton Falls Park Preservation Coalition and other neighborhood community organizations to care for forests in Seton Falls Park.
Funding for this project is supported by a grant to the Natural Areas Conservancy from the Long Island Sound Futures Fund through the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
