Van Cortlandt Park Forest Care, Day 1

The Natural Areas Conservancy and Van Cortlandt Park Alliance are teaming up to restore two acres of forest in the Northeast Forest of Van Cortlandt Park this year.

We would love for you to join us, especially if you are a community member in Woodlawn or Yonkers, or utilize this section of Van Cortlandt Park.

This in-person event is open to all, and is part of a series for the curious park lover and volunteers. Attend this and any or all of the in-person sessions, and learn what you need to know to care for the forest!

These guided volunteer opportunities will culminate in a planting day on October 23rd!

Registration is required to attend.

Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Bring water and a snack if you wish. Appropriate for adults, and older supervised children. We will be working in a forested section of the park using hand tools.
