2019 Women’s Speaker Series: Outdoor Activism and Advocacy

The Natural Areas Conservancy’s Leila Mougoui will be at REI SoHo to talk about forming coalitions and NYC Nature Goals 2050:

Advocating for the outdoors is important work that requires successfully navigating complexities in public policy while bringing people together for a common cause. For the fourth 2019 REI Women’s Speaker Series event we’ll hear from three women who are fighting for life outside at a high level here in New York. Adrienne Esposito (Citizens Campaign for the Environment) pursues federal funding to help preserve and protect Long Island Sound. Melissa Abramson (REI Outdoor Programs and Experiences) is actively involved in the creation of an Office of Outdoor Recreation in New York State. Leila Mougoui (Natural Areas Conservancy) works to create a diverse coalition supporters as part of NYC Nature Goals 2050. Beverages provided by Sapp, and we will have a raffle.

This event is free and advanced registration is required.
