Community Mural Painting Day 1

Please join The Natural Areas Conservancy in painting a beautiful new mural at the Bayswater Park BBQ area in Far Rockaway, Queens. NYC-based artist Ruth Hofheimer’s designs for the mural are inspired by the environmental diversity in Jamaica Bay and reflect the landscape, plants, and animals that live along NYC’s coastline.

The mural will be outlined on the wall in advance, and artists at all levels and all ages are welcome to sign up for all or part of the painting process.

Painting can be messy and we recommend artists wear clothing that can get dirty. Please also bring your own water and sunscreen as it can get very hot and sunny in this park.
