Forest Park Reforestation Day

Volunteer with the Natural Areas Conservancy and NYC Parks to plant native trees and shrubs in three locations as part of a larger reforestation project in Forest Park, Queens.

There are two meeting locations for this event. You can choose whichever location is most convenient for you. The first meeting location is at the My Buddy Statue entrance at the intersection of Park Lane South and Myrtle Avenue. The second meeting location is at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Forest Park Drive — but there is limited parking available at The Overlook.

Volunteers will be trained in proper planting techniques. Come dressed in sturdy boots or shoes, long pants, and clothing that can get dirty. Please bring your own water bottle and snack for this event. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. Registration is required. The registration deadline is October 16.

This project is generously supported by a 2018 New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Urban Community Forestry Grant to the Natural Areas Conservancy and the Forest Park Trust.
