Highbridge Park – Nature Walk and Planting!

Join the Natural Areas Conservancy’s ecologists for a guided nature walk and short planting event on Friday, December 16 in Highbridge Park, Washington Heights. We will walk the historic Old Croton Aqueduct trail in the southern section of the park and enjoy the last of the fall color, observe wildlife, and beautify the trail edges by planting native plants.

PLEASE NOTE: We will meet at 2:30 PM at the park entrance on 158th Street and Edgecombe Avenue. Please wear sturdy shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Bring water and a snack. Gloves and equipment will be provided.

This event is part of a series of community engagement events led by the Natural Areas Conservancy in Highbridge Park with neighboring communities. Together with community members and NYC Parks, NAC is promoting urban ecology, and forest stewardship and management to support the park’s 102 acres of natural areas.

The NAC’s community forestry program in Highbridge Park is supported by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Hudson River Estuary Program.
