Highbridge Park Super Steward: Trail Maintainer Training
The Natural Areas Conservancy will host a Super Steward: Trail Maintainer training on Saturday, September 10 at Highbridge Park in Manhattan. The event will take place from 10am to 1pm and the meeting location is Adventure Playground [W. 164th St. & Park, Edgecombe Ave, New York, NY 10032].
During this training you will learn:
- How to navigate using Citywide Trails Team trail maps
- How to identify and assess trail conditions
- Ways to mitigate trail concerns
- Plant identification and invasive management techniques
- Standard trail corridor dimensions and how to prune native vegetation using basic arboriculture methods
Attendees are recommended to bring a water bottle and wear weather appropriate clothing, long pants, and sturdy, closed toe shoes. Attendance of a Super Steward Orientation is required to become a Super Steward: Trail Maintainer. All participants are encouraged to attend the Super Steward Orientation prior to training.
