Inwood as Muse: An Artist Walk at Inwood Hill Park

Note: This is a rain reschedule of the August event by the same name. Our new date is Monday, September 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, and will go on RAIN OR SHINE!

New York City parks and landscapes have been the focus of many works by artist Matthew Jensen, and Inwood Hill Park has been a particularly important source of inspiration. This beautiful park overlooking the Hudson contains some of the City’s last remaining Revolutionary War-era trees. The Inwood as Muse walk will visit several of the most magical landmarks in the wooded landscape. Along the way, Jensen will share stories connected to past park-centric artworks and unpack some of the histories of the landscape. The walk will bring to light clues to the past that hide in the ecology, among the stones, and alongside the paths. Participants will also be invited to partake in collection-building activities derived from Jensen’s artistic practice. First-time visitors and long time locals are all invited to join us!
