National Trails Day: LaTourette Park Guided Hike & Forest Restoration

The Natural Areas Conservancy (NAC) and Greenbelt Conservation Corps (GCC) will host a guided walk on the trails at LaTourette Park as part of National Trails Day in order to explore the trail and learn about our local ecosystem. Attendees will learn about sustainable trail building, management concerns and plant id. Following the hike, participants will partake in forest restoration by removing introduced species and promoting native vegetation. If you are attending, please fill out this volunteer waiver.

All ages are welcome. Attendees under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

What you should bring:

  • A water bottle
  • Weather appropriate clothing
  • Sturdy, closed toe shoes
  • Long pants and tall socks recommended

If for whatever reason you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation. Space is limited and we want to ensure we can do our best to accommodate those who are interested.

If you have any questions about this event or would like to learn more about the Natural Areas Conservancy, please visit naturalareasnyc.org, @naturalareasnyc on Instagram or contact Community Engagement Coordinator, Melissa Rosenthal at melissa.rosenthal@naturalareasnyc.org.
