This Saturday October 3, 2026 is City of Forest Day! Created by Forest for All NYC in partnership with the Parks and Open Space Partners coalition and NYC Parks, this annual day of activities celebrates and brings awareness to the importance of the New York City’s urban forest.

We’ve compiled five events (one for each borough) in natural areas you can participate in this year.

Brooklyn

Marine Park Planting with the Natural Areas Conservancy and Marine Park Alliance

Meet the West Harlem Forest with Riverside Park Conservancy and the Natural Areas Conservancy
