Open House New York Inwood Hill Park Walking Tour
Join us for a walking tour along the trails of Inwood Hill Park, with beautiful forest enclaves and sweeping views of the Hudson River. See the caves, glacial potholes, and ridges formed at the end of the last Ice Age, and hear about the ecological features of the park and learn native plant identification techniques. The tour will also detail some of the social historical roots of the park, including its roles as a home for the Lenape tribe, the founding site of New York City, and a fort during the American Revolution.
(Registration for this event is by OHNY’s lottery which opens Tuesday, October 10 at 9am)
