Green Neighborhoods: Bird Tour and Volunteering in Richmond Hill, Queens
Volunteer with the Stewardship Team in restoring precious woodland in Richmond Hill. Volunteers will spruce up the surrounding restoration site in an effort to support the natural woodlands. No experience necessary, training will be provided the day of the event. Come dressed in long pants, closed-toed shoes (boots or sneakers preferred), and clothing that can get dirty.
When our work is done, Join Cesar Castillo from the Queens County Bird Club for a birding tour in Forest Park, Queens! Forest Park is home to a birding magnet called “The Water Hole,” a freshwater site surrounded by tall oak trees where nearly every species of warbler, vireo, and thrust has been spotted. Participants should be sure to bring binoculars!
