Guided Walk with Natural Areas Conservancy & New York Mycological Society
The Natural Areas Conservancy (NAC) and New York Mycological Society (NYMS) will host a guided walk along the nature trails at High Rock Park.
This walk will be led by NAC Senior Manager, Conservation Science, Helen Forgione and NYMS expert, Andrew Cannon, who will share information about community forestry, forest ecology, mycology and how all these things relate to one another. This is an explorative walk, you are encouraged to interact with the forest and ask questions along the way.
We will conclude the event with an evaluation of mycological and botanical samples collected during the walk.
All ages are welcome. Attendees under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
If you are attending, please fill out this volunteer waiver.
What you should bring:
- A water bottle
- Weather appropriate clothing
- Long pants
- Sturdy, closed toe shoes
- Paper bags to collect specimens
If for whatever reason you are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation. Space is limited and we want to ensure we can do our best to accommodate those who are interested.
