Forest Restoration Workshop on the LaTourette Blue Trail

Pull and bag invasive Mile-a-minute vine! Meet the Protectors of Pine Oak Woods in the parking lot of the Greenbelt Nature Center. From there you will follow the Nature, Blue and Red trails to the restoration area beside Rockland Avenue where you will pull and bag invasive Mile-a-minute vine. You’ll have an opportunity to take a bite out of this nimble invader that can quickly take over our fields and semi-shaded woodlands. Protectors will supply bags, gloves and refreshments. (Because of ticks – ever present on Staten Island – wearing long pants that can be tucked into socks is recommended.)
