Lemon Creek Walk with Nathan Kensinger
WE ARE USING THE RAIN DATE FOR THIS EVENT: Sunday. August 5, 2-4 pm. Same Place.
Lemon Creek is one of the longest aboveground creeks in New York City, and its route travels through several unique ecosystems, providing habitat for eagles, peacocks, and deer. Once famous for its oysters and oystermen, it is now part of the Staten Island Bluebelt, and helps to provide storm water management for over 1,300 acres of land. Join writer and photographer Nathan Kensinger on a walk tracing out the lower portions of this historic natural waterway, as it flows through forests and marshlands on its way out to Prince’s Bay.
