Mott Basin Clean Up with United By Blue

Join United By Blue, the Natural Areas Conservancy, Jamaica Bay-Rockaway Parks Conservancy, and American Littoral Society for a cleanup of Motts Basin, part of Jamaica Bay Park!

As part of Jamaica Bay Park, Mott Basin is part of an 18,000 acre wetland estuary that is home to hundreds of species of migratory birds, fish, and insects. Even though the park is a largely untouched natural area, Mott Basin still captures trash and litter that flows in from surrounding rivers. This trash can be detrimental to the local ecosystems and/or flow into the Atlantic to contribute to ocean plastic issues. Help us remove this trash from the wetlands so that the people, animals, and plants that use and love this park can continue to do so!
