02/16 Riverdale Park Trail Maintenance Hike
Did you know that NYC has over 350 miles of hiking trails throughout its public parks? Help keep these trails clean, safe, and ecologically healthy by joining the NYC Parks Stewardship Team and the Natural Areas Conservancy on a trail maintenance hike! During these 2 hour hikes, you’ll learn about the geology and ecology of NYC’s natural areas while helping to maintain the trail systems by clearing overgrown trail corridors, cutting back invasive plants, and removing obstacles and debris. Come dressed in warm clothes and sturdy boots or shoes. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles. Space is limited and registration is required. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone.
