The Power of Stewardship

When you think of volunteering in a local park, you might imagine picking up trash or maintaining a flower bed. But in New York City’s 20,000 acres of natural areas, there are many ways our volunteers help care for these natural resources and improve park experiences for the public. And this meaningful work doesn’t just help the city’s forests and wetlands — it strengthens communities and encourages use and enjoyment of these beloved spaces.

Join the Natural Areas Conservancy for our latest virtual event: The Power of Stewardship on Tuesday, April 6 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During this hour-long program, panelists from the USDA Forest Service, NYC Parks, and the NAC will discuss the importance of volunteerism for New York City’s natural areas and its residents. They’ll also share some unique and fun ways New Yorkers can get involved in their neighborhood and help care for their local open spaces.

A big thank you to Con Edison for sponsoring this event and our 2021 event series. The Power of Stewardship will take place on Zoom, and registration is required.
