Virtual Event: Get to Know New York City’s Plants

Many think of New York City for its endless skyline of buildings and bridges. While in reality, 40% of the Big Apple is green. There are countless native plant species that grow in every borough — but you don’t have to be an expert in plant identification to spot them while exploring your local natural areas.

Join us on Monday, June 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. as the NAC’s Senior Ecologist Helen Forgione leads a presentation and discussion about New York City’s plants and where you can find them. With over 25 years of experience, Helen has endless knowledge to share that will help you become more familiar with New York City’s varied plant life.

This event is limited to 100 spots through Zoom. Please only sign up if you plan to attend. We will keep the program to an hour, with an opportunity for Q&A at the end. This event was made possible through support to the Natural Areas Conservancy from Con Edison.
